It’s a classic oatmeal chocolate chip cookie, no raisins, no nuts, just chocolate chip goodness! A few other tidbits about the signature RST cookie:
It’s soft and chewy. However, I have it on good authority from crispy cookie lovers that it is still “undeniably delicious.”
It’s hearty and hefty. It’s a thick cookie, sometimes even half of one feels like enough (but you’ll be probably find yourself eating the other half soon anyway). The perfect amount of oats does its job of adding a bit of texture without overwhelming you with oat-i-ness.
It’s butter-y and chocolate-y. Two things that should just not be skimped on in life. I’m from Wisconsin; what can I say?
It’s tried and true. I have made and eaten SO many of these cookies, bringing them to parties for years and tinkering with the recipe until it is just about as good as it gets.
It has some twists, including sea salt flakes on top, plus some other secrets in the baking process that have been discovered over the years by my grandmother, mom, and sister.
